I'm Markell Eric Byrd.
I spent seventeen years inside large wealth organizations watching good advisors get stuck on problems the firm had no incentive to solve. Green Byrd exists to solve them from the outside.
Most of my career was spent building the machinery advisors live inside: growth programs, digital platforms, service models, and the operating processes that decide whether an advisor spends the day with clients or with software. As a Managing Director in Wells Fargo’s Enterprise Wealth Management organization, my job was to make that machinery work at national scale. Before that, UBS, LPL Financial, and U.S. Trust — different models, the same recurring failure points.
Along the way I became a named inventor on a U.S. patent for an AI client-engagement framework, which is a formal way of saying I spent years on the question of how a relationship business grows deliberately instead of accidentally.
I started Green Byrd because the two hardest decisions in this industry get made with the worst information. Whether to go independent is usually decided from a recruiting deck. Whether a firm is ready to scale is usually decided by whoever has the strongest opinion in the room. I bring the inside view to both, and I will tell you when the answer is no.
